The wedding season has arrived and I’ll be posting some recent weddings soon!  Here’s a recent engagement session I had with Julie and Will;  a great couple getting married in August this summer with a wedding in Quechee, Vermont.  We met up at Montpellier’s North Branch Park.  There was no shortage of beautiful scenery, interesting landmarks, and the evening light was simply gorgeous!  That combined with Julie & Will’s easy going, open mindedness and relaxed attitude made for a very successful shoot and plenty of fine imagery.

For you photographers out there, here’s a few details about my approach…  I aimed to keep the sun at their backs for most shots.  This usually keeps your subjects’ faces evenly lit and provides an often stunning “glow” around them as the sun wraps around.  So cool at this time of day!  Also,  I’m always scanning for interesting natural elements or man made structures that can be worked into the image, especially lines and shapes.  North Branch park has this great bridge with an epic railing that, when composed effectively, leads the viewer’s eye into the frame.  Looking for lines, shapes and other contrasting graphical elements can build interest in your images.
