Vermont Wedding: Anna and Sam in Burlington
For those wedding photographers that enjoy an active and somewhat unpredictable day of shooting, a fun and adventurous couple is a must! I had two delightfully fun people to capture last summer when I shot Anna and Sam’s wedding in Burlington, Vermont. Knowing them from our engagement session last spring, I knew an awesome day was ahead of us! Both Anna and Sam, as well as their warmly hilarious wedding party, were a joy to follow around and snap photos of for the day. We started at the Burlington waterfront, stopped in downtown Burlington for a stroll up and down Church street, and even made a pitstop at a beach on Lake Champlain. So many amazing images were made! The ceremony and reception were both held at the Burlington Country Club.
This is the smile that just would not go away, he was still wearing it when I left at midnight.
Sam and the fellas grabbing a bite and a beer before the 1st look.
The pier down at the Burlington waterfront was a perfect setting for the 1st look photos. We suggested Sam face the lake looking lost in thought while Anna arrived in the limo and walked towards him.
I was hiding by the railing, several pedestrians were scattered on the pier, but these two were the only ones that mattered here. Everyone who saw felt instantly warm watching them no doubt.
Back in the limo the wedding party was all smiles. A few drinks and they were ready to walk down Church Street in Burlington.
The folks on Church Street were so great! Cheering, calling, whistling, congratulating! The wedding party felt like movie stars and I felt like the paparrazzi!
Even though we were a little late to the ceremony Anna and Sam took the time to stop by the lake for a few photos, I’m so glad they did!
What…rip around the wedding venue in golf carts with reckless abandon? Yes, please!
Gorgeous flowers were by Kathy at Kathy & Company Florist.
We had party cloudy skies, a favorite of many photographers for the dramatic effect, especially at sunset and just after!
I often look to position portraits with backs to the sun. It creates such a beautiful glow outlining each person while leaving faces evenly lit, just wonderful for these wedding party formals!
Stunning, love the color palette!
This crew got right down on the dance floor and didn’t waste any time! Soo much fun to photograph!
